Dinosaur Country – Who Knew?

Crossing into Utah I passed though Dinosaur National Monument. It’s a park I had never heard of until that day. The scenery was really cool heading into Vernal, Utah. As it was getting late in Vernal, I started to look for a hotel, as I car camped the previous night. Well, the rooms were doing fast. It was a Saturday evening and it seems more folk were into dinosaurs than I thought. Then again, in this region, towns are few and far apart.

I was resigned to car camp again in the Wal Mart parking lot when I though I would pass through town one more time and at least get a meal. In the heart of downtown I see the Sage Motel. It looked quaint and clean so I stopped to see if there was still a room available.

The front desk attendant (I am so terrible with names.) Said the hotel was booked, however, they had just renovated some apartments down the block that they were going to air BnB but had done done so yet and I could rent it. Sometimes luck just goes your way. The apartment was fantastic and after a great prime rib, I got a great night’s rest.
